The founder
Advisory from someone who has run the business, not only studied it.
Ashley Sturtevant spent nearly two decades building and operating a service-based company. That meant developing systems, hiring and leading a team, managing the work day to day, working through difficult seasons, and making decisions that had to be made when there was no one else to make them.
Beyond the Hustle Business Advisory grew out of that experience. The work is practical and unglamorous: the parts of a business that decide whether it holds together as it grows, and whether the owner is still standing at the end of it.
Where owners get stuck
The business works. It works because you carry it.
Most established owner-operated businesses do not need a new strategy. They need capacity, structure and an outside perspective. These are the patterns worth taking apart first.
Everything routes through you
Approvals, pricing calls, client questions and problems all wait for one person. The business runs at the speed you can personally sustain.
Growth without structure
Demand arrives faster than the systems around it. Roles, handoffs and processes were never built to carry the volume now moving through them.
Hiring on instinct
People are brought in quickly, expectations stay unspoken, and performance conversations get postponed until they become unavoidable.
Profit you cannot see
Revenue looks healthy, but the true cost of delivering the work is not clear enough to price confidently or decide what to keep doing.
Operations held together by memory
Schedules, client details and know-how live in someone's head. When a key person is away, quality and continuity slip.
Decisions made alone
There is no one to pressure-test a significant call with: a hire, a new service line, a price change, a difficult conversation.
Advisory focus areas
Six areas where advisory work changes the business.
Each area below is a proposed focus for advisory work, drawn from the realities of running a company. The right mix is decided together after an initial conversation, never sold in advance as a fixed package.
Business Operations & Systems
Making the work repeatable, so it stops depending on who is watching.
Learn moreHiring, Retention & Accountability
Getting the right people in, and keeping the standard clear.
Learn moreProfitability & Business Performance
Understanding what makes money, and what quietly costs it.
Learn moreHow the process works
Four steps, in order, with nothing skipped.
Good advisory work starts with understanding how the business actually runs today, then sequencing the changes that matter. Nothing here is a template applied from the outside.
- Step 01
Discovery conversation
A focused conversation about where the business stands, what is working, and what keeps pulling at you. No cost, no obligation.
- Step 02
Business assessment
We look at operations, team structure, financial performance and how work truly moves through the business, including the bottlenecks nobody has had time to name.
- Step 03
Recommendations
A written set of practical priorities, sequenced so the most important changes happen first, with the reasoning behind each one.
- Step 04
Implementation support
Hands-on support while changes are made: checkpoints, accountability and adjustments as the business responds.
The next step
If the business is carrying you, that is worth changing.
Begin with one conversation about what your business is navigating right now. You will leave it with a clearer picture either way, and a sense of whether working together makes sense.
